Testing Information and Dates

The SAT Reasoning Test assesses how well you analyze and solve problems - skills you learned in school that you'll need in college. The SAT includes a critical reading, mathematics, and writing section, with a specific number of questions related to content. Each section of the SAT is scored on a scale of 200-800, with two writing subscores for multiple-choice and the essay.
Subject Tests (formerly SAT II: Subject Tests) are designed to measure your knowledge and skills in particular subject areas, as well as your ability to apply that knowledge. Many colleges use the Subject Tests for admission, for course placement, and to advise students about course selection. Some college specify the Subject Tests they require for admission or placement; others allow applicants to choose which tests to take. Check with your college to determine if these tests are required.
KhanAcademy offers free official practice for the SAT.

The Keystone Exams are state-mandated, end-of-course assessments used in Pennsylvania public high schools to evaluate student proficiency in academic content areas. Administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, these tests help satisfy state and federal school accountability requirements.
In July 2012, the State Board adopted PA Common Core Standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Reading and Writing in History, Social Studies and Technical Subjects. These new standards mirror the rigor of the Common Core, but also retain the PA Academic Standards. These standards can be found at PDE's website: http://pdesas.org.
